Alex in Wonderland
Meet Alex Sumner, 26, handsome, rich and engaged to Camilla Spivey, one of the most beautiful women in New Orleans. The only problem — and it’s a humdinger–is that Alex is living in the closet and when the wedding bells get deafening, he hightails it to Key West. Along the way, he meets Cord Foster, big, strong and on the skids. Cord has charm to burn, and Alex falls in love for the first time, but the honeymoon is over when Alex’s dictatorial father puts bounty hunters on his son’s trail.
Dragged back to New Orleans and forced to reconcile with the self-absorbed Camilla, Alex realizes he has to nix that big society wedding. Luckily, his partners-in-crime Jolie Menard and Angelique Poché know just the right menagerie of French Quarter zanies to make it happen.
Alex in Wonderland is a true page-turner, simultaneously funny, suspenseful, bittersweet and audacious. With a nod to screwball film comedies, LaCroix crosses It Happened One Night with Some Like It Hot. It’s one wild trip down the rabbit hole that no reader—gay, straight or otherwise—should miss.
